Find out at the the seventh annual “Are You Smarter than a BCP 5th Grader?” Quiz Show on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 6:15pm-8:15pm at City Springs Elementary/Middle School (100 S. Caroline Street, 21231)

Enjoy dinner and a fun-filled quiz show with local celebrities. Onsite parking is available. Seating is limited. All proceeds will benefit the over 2,700 PreK-8 students attending BCP's neighborhood charter schools.

Darryl D. De Sousa, Baltimore City Police Commissioner Designate, has served the Baltimore Police Department since 1988. He was appointed Deputy Police Commissioner in August 2015 after serving as the Chief of Patrol. He was appointed as a law enforcement fellow with the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) in August 2016, and he is currently the Commissioner Designate De Sousa. Over the course of his career, Commissioner Designate De Sousa has gained a surfeit of law enforcement experience. He has held key executive-level positions in administration and patrol operations. He is also responsible for the initiation of the agency’s first Cyber Crimes Unit.<!--[endif]-->
Tom Hall joined the WYPR staff as the Host of Choral Arts Classics in 2003.  After 10 years as the Culture Editor and then host of Maryland Morning, in September, 2016, Tom became the host of Midday, the highly rated news and public policy program that features interviews with elected officials, community leaders, and thought provoking authors, artists, researchers, journalists, and scholars from around the world. In 2006, as the Music Director of the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, Tom received an Emmy Award for Christmas with Choral Arts, a special that aired on WMAR television, the ABC affiliate in Maryland, for 21 years.
Dr. Sonja Brookins Santelises, Chief Executive Officer of Baltimore City Public Schools, has spent close to 30 years focused on building high-quality teaching and learning to help students excel, including her tenure as chief academic officer for Baltimore City Public Schools from 2010 to 2013. She returned to City Schools in July 2016 after serving for three years as vice president for K-12 policy and practice at The Education Trust, a nonprofit organization focused on closing the achievement gap experienced disproportionately by African American, Latino, and Native students and students from low-income families. 
Robert Heck, a native of New York City, has worked in the entertainment industry for more than 30 years. His career as an actor and writer includes work in network TV shows, feature films, theater, industrial films and trade shows, as well as commercials and interactive computer presentations. In addition, he has provided creative services to many Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and industry associations. He received a B.S. in Marketing from Fordham University. In 1992 Mr. Heck joined Maryland Public Television (MPT). In an eighteen year career as an on-air host (Bob the Vid Tech), Bob received ten Capital Region Emmy Awards and a national CINE Golden Eagle Award.
The Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) is the largest network of neighborhood charter schools in Maryland, serving over 2,700 PreK-8 students: City Springs Elementary/Middle School, Frederick Elementary School, Govans Elementary School, Hampstead Hill Academy and Wolfe Street Academy.
